Marcello Khan 

Managing Partner

Marcello Khan is an experienced founder, owner-operator, and leader of institutional teams.  In aggregate, Marcello has over $7 billion of closed transaction experience across all major property types, all parts of the capital stack, and a multitude of geographies.

Under Slate, Marcello runs executive consulting for family offices, large developers, GPs, and LPs alike. Assignments have included most deal functions, stages in an asset’s life cycle, and parts of the capital stack. Notably, Marcello ran an investment platform, building and running all facets from the ground up: strategic direction, acquisitions, execution, asset management, financing, and operations. Across acquisitions, value-add renovations, asset management, financings, and dispositions, Marcello has successfully ran transactions and strategies on thousands of multifamily units.


Marcello was previously Vice President at Woodridge Capital Partners, he was responsible for acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, asset management, and financing, completing over $3.4 billion in transaction volume, commonly alongside its institutional partners. The spectrum of deals was broad, ranging from low-rise multifamily assets to multi-billion dollar mixed-use projects.
 

Marcello also had a leading role in originating over $3.6 billion in financing on commercial real estate assets at PGIM Real Estate (formerly Prudential), which spanned multiple debt platforms, geographies, and all major property types.
 

Marcello graduated cum laude from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California with a dual concentration in real estate finance and development. At Marshall, Marcello led multiple teams to victory in international real estate competitions.

 

Marcello is a licensed real estate broker in the state of California.
